Alaska Locality Pay has been a hot topic for years but now it's a reality for Alaska's Federal Employees.
This transition, from COLA to Locality Pay, means BIG changes for Federal Employees in Alaska. But more importantly - the phase in to Alaska Locality Pay will have a HUGE impact on your Federal Retirement plans.
COLA to Locality = BIG Changes to Your Federal Retirement Plans
Transitioning from COLA to Locality Pay will make it possible for some federal employees to retire sooner than they had thought.
While others will be more concerned with the additional taxes this change brings.
Special Event: Live Q&A on COLA to Locality Pay
Back in November, I put together a comprehensive class to cover the transition and what it means to Alaska’s Federal Employees.
In the online class, I addressed the primary concerns I heard from federal employees in Alaska. We designed the online class in a way that you could take it on your own schedule. But I got lots of requests for a Live Question & Answer Session.

Special Discount for Federal Agencies in Alaska
We were approached by some Federal Agencies in Alaska to see if we offer a special rate for purchases from Federal Agencies.
They wanted to arrange to purchase our COLA to Locality Class so their employees would understand the transition and get access to the most comprehensive class on Alaska Locality Pay.
Yes – we do offer discounts for agencies based on how many ‘seats’ in the class they purchase at one time. One seat = one federal employee. We have three tiers of discounted rates for agency purchases: up to 50 seats, 51 – 100 seats, and 101+ seats.
We know that there are several federal agencies that have a smaller presence in Alaska – but it is just as important that their employees understand the COLA to Locality Pay change too.
So we’re extending a special offer that allows agencies to team up and benefit from each other’s purchasing power – but each agency will still be billed separately.
For example, let’s say Agency A wants to buy 40 seats and Agency B wants to buy 90 seats. If they purchased the class separately, Agency A would get the up to 50 seat discounted rate and Agency B would get the 51-100 seat discounted rate. But – if they make the purchase at the same time the total amount of seats is 130 – and we would allow both agencies to get the 101+ seat discounted rate. But each agency will still get a separate bill – Agency A for 40 seats and Agency B for 90 seats.
What’s the catch? The catch is that the agencies must make their purchase at the same time. That’s it.
